Experience of a life time
The programma combines scientific excellence with experience in the field. The full program, and details about the content of every course can be found on the website of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel by following this link.
The full master combines Compulsory course units (45 ECTS in 1st year + 30 ECTS in 2nd year) with Elective course units (15 ECTS to be chosen from any master programme after approval of the examination commission) and a Master thesis in herpetology (30 ECTS in 2nd year).
Courses with a strong herpetological flavour (thaught by herpetologists) are ...

Natural history of burrowing herpetofauna - Mark Wilkinson & David Gower
Integrative herpetology: from DNA to diversity - Ines Van Bocxlaer
Integrative herpetology: EvoDevo and physics - Michel Milinkovitch and Athanasia Tzika

Molecular phylogenetics and evolution - Franky Bossuyt
Field trip herpetology - Kim Roelants
Toxins in amphibians and reptiles - Kim Roelants
Population and conservation genetics - Joachim Mergeay
while other courses nicely complement a broad education in biology
Analysis of biological data, Fieldtrip ecology, Introduction to GIS, ...
The highlight of this education is obviously the Field Trip Herpetology in the tropics (see photo)
